Failure is inevitable in production. What we can do is to solve it as quickly as possible in case of failure, so as not to cause greater economic losses. As one of the commonly used milling equipment, the Ball Grinding Mill Machine encounters a variety of problems, the following are some common faults.
Ball Grinding Mill Machine Bearing Overheating, Motor Overload
Cause Of Issue
- 1. The lubricant grade is inconsistent with the equipment specification, or the lubricant is deteriorated;
- 2. Too much or too little grease;
- 3. The lubrication pipeline is blocked, causing the lubricating oil not to enter the lubrication point;
- 4. The bearing or coupling is not installed correctly;
- 5. The gap between the journal and the bearing bush is too large or too small, and the contact is poor;
- 6. The oil tank is damaged and the oil cannot flow into the journal or bearing bush.
Solution
- 1. Use the correct grade of lubricant to replace the deteriorated lubricant;
- 2, according to the provisions to increase the amount of oil, generally 1/3 to 1/2 of the bearing gap is more appropriate;
- 3. Unblock the lubrication pipeline;
- 4. Install the bearing or coupling correctly;
- 5. Adjust the clearance between the journal and the bearing bush;
- 6. Check the oil tank in time.
There Is A Regular Tapping In The Operation, And The Sound Is Loud.
Cause Of Issue
Some of the liner bolts are not tightened, and the liner strikes the barrel of the Ball Grinding Mill Machine as the Ball Grinding Mill Machine rotates.
Solution

Solution
- 1. Adjust the wheel gap according to the regulations;
- 2. Make the two axes concentric;
- 3. Symmetrically tighten the connecting bolts of the coupling with the same torque;
- 4. Fix the bearing outer ring.
Huge Vibration Occurs When The Reducer Is Equipped With A Grinder
Cause Of Issue
- 1. The balance shaft of the Ball Grinding Mill Machine and the reducer, the axis is not on the straight line;
- 2. The large Ball Grinding Mill Machine is bulky and heavy, causing the foundation to sink and displacement.
Solution

Reducer Bearing Heat, Abnormal Operation Sound
Cause Of Issue
- 1. The venting hole of the reducer is blocked;
- 2. The balance wheel and intermediate wheel of the reducer are not installed according to the specified meshing teeth.
Solution
- 1. Perform temperature detection on the reducer bearing to clear the exhaust hole;
- 2. The balance wheel and the intermediate wheel are installed according to the specified meshing teeth.
Main Bearing Temperature Is Too High, Hot, Smoke Or Melt
Cause Of Issue
- 1. The oil supply is interrupted or the oil is insufficient;
- 2. Poor oil quality or sand, debris, etc. in the bearing;
- 3, the main bearing installation is not fair;
- 4. The cylinder drive shaft is bent;
- 5, the oil groove is too deep and the tile pad and shaft contact so that the oil does not enter the tile;
- 6. The oil supply device fails, the oil supply is interrupted or insufficient;
- 7. The bearing clearance is not suitable and the contact with the shaft is poor;
- 8. The viscosity of the lubricating oil is unqualified;
- 9. The coupling is not installed correctly;
- 10. The main bearing has insufficient cooling water or high cooling water temperature.
Solution
- 1, cooling and cooling, then stop grinding to check and adjust, increase the amount of oil;
- 2, cleaning, replacement of new oil;
- 3. Adjust the leveling;
- 4. Adjusting and aligning;
- 5. Inspection, repair and adjustment;
- 6. Repair the oil supply device;
- 7. Adjust the gap, scrape the bearing bush or repair the journal;
- 8. Replace the suitable viscosity lubricant;
- 9. Adjust and correct;
- 10. Increase water supply. Or lower the water supply temperature.
Local Wear Of The Cylinder
Cause Of Issue
- 1. The lining plate is not installed in a wrong position;
- 2. Continue to run after the liner is detached;
- 3. There is material flushing between the liner and the cylinder.
Solution
- 1. The lining boards are staggered and installed;
- 2. Repair or replace the liner;
- 3. The lining plate and the cylinder body are closely attached.
Gear Bearing Vibration, Excessive Noise, Accompanied By Percussion
Cause Of Issue
- 1. Loose bearing cap or bearing housing bolts;
- 2. The bearing wear is too large;
- 3. Poor bearing installation;
- 4, the gear wear is too large, the lubricant is too dirty or lack of lubricating oil;
- 5. If the gear is improperly meshed, the radial or axial runout of the large gear is too large;
- 6. The large gear coupling bolt is loose or the counter bolt is loose;
- 7. Gear machining accuracy is not satisfactory;
- 8. The hollow bearing pad or the transmission bearing seat is loose or the apron is worn;
- 9. The coupling bolt is loose or the apron is worn.
Solution
- 1. Fastening bolts;
- 2. Replace the bearing;
- 3, the bearing is being adjusted;
- 4. Repair or replace gears to enhance lubrication;
- 5. Adjust the gears;
- 6. Fastening bolts;
- 7. Repair or replacement;
- 8. Tighten the bolt or replace the rubber ring;
- 9. Fasten or replace.
Lubrication System Oil Pressure Is Too High Or Too Low
Cause Of Issue
- 1. The tubing is blocked or leaking oil;
- 2. Insufficient oil supply;
- 3. There is a problem with the oil pump.
Solution
- 1. Check if the oil pipe is clogged or leaking oil, and check or replace the oil pipe in time;
- 2. Regularly replenish oil supply;
- 3. Check if the oil pump enters the air or leaks oil and handle it in time.
The Ball Grinding Mill Machine Cannot Be Started Or The Motor Is Overloaded When Starting
Cause Of Issue
- 1. There is a problem with the motor system;
- 2. There are obstacles in the swivel part;
- 3. When the machine is stopped for a long time, the material and the grinding body in the Ball Grinding Mill Machine are not removed in time, and the wet material is condensed into blocks. When the machine starts, the grinding body does not drop, which increases the load on the motor.
Solution
- 1. Inspect and repair the motor system;
- 2. Clean up some obstacles in the swing;

Gear Tooth Surface Wears Too Fast

- 3. The quality of gear processing is not satisfactory;

Solution
- 1. Strengthen bones or replace lubricants;
- 2. Adjust the meshing clearance;
- 3. Strict control of the processing process and elimination of unqualified parts;
- 4, quenching and tempering treatment;
- 5. Re-adjustment;
- 6. Carry out cleaning.
Mill Vibration, Axial Turbulence
Cause Of Issue
- 1. The grounding of the base of the machine base causes the mill to be installed unevenly;
- 2. The bottom of the foundation is eroded by oil leakage and the bottom bolts are loose.
Solution
- 1. It can be shut down, padded to adjust the sinking position, and make the ground level of the machine bottom;
- 2. Remove the secondary grouting layer that has been eroded by oil, and re-bury the anchor bolts, then adjust the grinder and tighten the anchor bolts.
